Mute Swan

Have you ever heard of the story of the ugly duckling?  Well if you have, you know that the grey little baby turned into a beautiful white swan in the end.  Mute swans are just one kind of swan and they are fascinating!

Did you know that mute swans are incredibly smart and they have great memories?  If you have shown kindness to a swan they will remember you for life, but they will also remember if you were mean to them.

Mute Swans take care of their babies called cygnets and their parents stay together for life.  When these parents build a nest, they can defend an area 4-10 acres.

Wow, this is the size of some farms and parks!

Let’s jump into a story to learn some more about these birds!  Will Zander and Ava the pelicans get their ball back from a grumpy swan?

I bet you’re wondering what the Mute Swan’s out of this world fact could be!

Mute swans are not as loud as other types of swans.  In fact, when they fly, they remain silent. This is where they get their name.
