Let’s learn some more!
Critter At A Glance
What are they like? Red Foxes are the largest of the fox species. They are quick runners (up to 30 mph), smart, and adapt easily to their surroundings. They have amazing eyesight and have ultrasonic hearing! They can even hear mice under ground.
Where do they live? These critters can be found all around the continental United States, even as far as Alaska. They can live in a wide range of terrain including; woodlands, wetlands, urban or suburban areas, forests, tundras, you name it!
What do they eat? Foxes eat small rodents. They catch mice, rabbits, and birds. But, they also eat fruit! They have been known to steal food from garbage cans or farmers if there isn’t enough food in their surroundings. This is one reason why many consider them sneaky and smart.
Who raises the babies? Vixen are what female foxes are called. They sometimes live in groups and help raise each other's cubs. Dogs, or male foxes, bring food to the mothers while they stay with the babies.

Today’s challenge is to get up and get moving! This game is a version of line tag, so you will need something to mark some lines.
Set Up Ideas
A driveway with chalk
Pillows on the floor inside
Cones to twigs in the grass
Once you get some lines set, you will also need a designated HOME BASE at the end of one of your lines or in the middle of them all.
How to play Fox and Geese Tag
Choose 1 person to be the IT. This person is a fox, and everyone else is a goose.
Play tag only along your lines. You can’t jump lines!
The HOME BASE is the geese’s safe house. If you make it there, you can stay for 10 seconds. If a fox tags you, you become a fox too until everyone is a fox.
